Terry and Margaret Atkinson

Terry Atkinson is a Yorkshireman, raised in Wath-On-Dearne, near Rotherham.
He was introduced to faith in Christ by a Christian who talked to him about God. He spoke as if God was a real person and this inspired Terry to find out more.

Terry's wife, Margaret, was raised in Hall Green, Wakefield, West Yorkshire. When she became a Christian, she was told they thought she was sick and she spent two years looking for people with the same experience of Christ as herself.

Margaret had a grandfather who was a well-known local Christian, who was called 'Sweet William' because he used to offer sweets to the miners when they swore, to help them sweeten their mouths.

Terry spent his early days training for the ministry in Perth, Western Australia. He returned to England in the 1960's to train in the Assemblies of God Bible College where the late Donald Gee, one of the early Pentecostal pioneers, was the college principal. It was at Kenley Bible College that Terry and Margaret met, leaving there to pioneer a church in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. They have two sons, one daughter and four grandchildren and now work in the Greater Manchester area of England.

Their present work involves them travelling from church to church, and they particularly help where and when other ministers feel in need of a rest. They have ministered in various countries, especially Canada, and invariably see God at work in many wonderful ways, confirming His word with signs following.
