Paths of Righteousness in Psalm 23

This book takes you verse by verse through Psalm 23. Special reference is made to the fact that there is no mention of 'death' in the original language in which the psalm was written. There is no 'me' in the original language: it is just 'You:me'.

Verse 6 says, 'Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me'. The Hebrew verb for 'follow' here is 'battle hatred'. What King David felt in a time of war, when facing opposing forces and chasing a running warrior, is how God feels about us - not to kill or destroy us, but to get us into the house of the Lord forever.

What others say about this book:

'So who can squeeze more juice out of an old-time hymn? The remarkable fact is that our author has done just that in this sparkling exposition. Colourful English, rich in abundant figures of speech, makes for exhilarating reading.' Aaron Linford.

'After reading many books and commentaries on this psalm, as a mature Christian I have found this to be the best devotional book on Psalm 23 I have ever read'. Mrs. Walters - Wigan Pentecostal Church

'I am asked to edit and proof-read many books. We receive so many and there are about one in every hundred which are outstanding. 'Paths of Righteousness in Psalm 23' is that one in a hundred. I left a note upon the manuscript to the Publishers, this book is different and in my opinion worth publishing'. Claire Rogers - editor and proof-reader.

The Growing Pains of Peter

This book mirrors our own hearts as we read it. Peter is viewed from many angles, this dash and dare disciple whose Galilean temperament was as volatile as the storms that blew onto the Sea of Galilee.

The book takes you with Peter into the ministry of Jesus, revealing the heart of this disciple. He's the rogue we all love. He makes the mistakes that you would have made. The love of God for humanity is seen in a new light, not only at and on the cross, but revealed in everyday happenings. Peter makes mistakes, but Jesus is there to rectify them and take him further on in Himself.

What others say about this book:

'This inspired devotional study brings Peter to life through a myriad of powerful illustrations. Readers will want to say, 'I've been there...' and 'that's just like me.' All Peter's weaknesses and strengths are exposed: the immaturity of a child, the impulsiveness of youth, the ambitious adult and the hindsight of old age.' Sue Hull

'Of all the books I have ever read on the apostle Peter, this is the best and the most profound. It is dealt with in an everyday manner, and you see yourself in Peter. I would strongly recommend anyone to buy it.' Mrs. Mary Bartholomew, Bookshop Manager SPCK, commenting on Radio Carlisle.

'I have searched everywhere for copies of this book. I picked up a copy in Canada, and was so blessed by it. This book so inspired me, I want to give copies to all my friends.' Mrs. Zeller, Oregon, USA.

'I read 'The Growing Pains of Peter' while I was travelling. It was a great challenge. I was so impressed by the depth of research that has gone into this book - the facts and the depth in this edition are so good. You should apply to one of our universities for a Ph.D. in connection with this book and all the research you have put into it, they should grant you some recognition.' C. M. Choong, graduate of Manchester University.

In Sickness and In Health

This is not a 'quick-fix' book on healing. It faces up to the realities of life and the fact that some people are not healed. It deals with suffering and shows what it can and does produce in people. There are many stories of healing and answers to prayer in this book. It deals positively and fully with all types of suffering and sickness.

This book is different to others on healing. It seeks to answer the questions, 'Why do we suffer?' and 'Why did God allow this to happen to me?' The author takes his own suffering after a car accident and uses it to show how we can come through, and be brought back to health by many different means.

The book offers support for anyone, whatever their stage of faith or level of maturity. It gives insight and pours grace into the lives of those who have suffered or are suffering.

In Sickness and In Health encourages us to depend on God, to receive from Him, and helps us to see light at the other end of the tunnel.

What others say about this book:

'This is a splendid book. I have enjoyed reviewing it so much. I particularly like the final chapter where the many sources of healing are dealt with. Buy it as a present for your minister!' - 'Direction', the magazine of the Elim Pentecostal Church.

'I am so glad you came to our church and that you brought the book 'In Sickness and In Health'. You don't know this but before you came I lost my son in a motorcycle accident. At that time I entered into a deep blackness. I couldn't understand why this had happened to me. I obtained your book, read it, and light flooded into my life again. It helped me to understand everything about suffering. Thank you so very much for 'In Sickness and In Health'.- Mrs. Walters, Malton, North Yorkshire.

'Terry, you are certainly a gifted writer. Your book 'In Sickness and In Health' is one of the most balanced books on healing.' - David Petts, Principal of Mattersey Hall Assemblies of God Bible College.

'First I must say that the opening of chapter nine is one of the most moving pieces I have ever read. I think it is a key part of the book.' - Judith Loads, 'The Umberleigh Press'.

Buried Talents

'Buried Talents' is unlike any other book written based on the book of Jonah. The life and character of Jonah are examined and applied to today's service for God. Within the prophet's complex life were many talents that needed to be released. Through the book, you are taken, step by step with Jonah, from the burying of his talent to God unearthing what was buried. The Almighty uses many things and prepares seven things, including the wind, worm and sea. Jonah is one of those seven things prepared.

The book opens with 'The One who has every talent.' That is Jesus Christ. Then, chapter by chapter, you are taken from successive challenges until all you have is dedicated to God. The chapters challenge in various ways. 'The burying of your talent' is dealt with. 'The refusal to use your talent.' 'The description of your talent.' 'The methods God uses to rescue your talent.' The final chapter is based on 'The consecrated talent.'

This book has been written for all those who feel they are not very gifted, and long to work for God in some area. The book will challenge and inspire you to be your best for the Best. It will make you realise that you have potential that didn't seem possible before reading this book.

What others say about this book:

'Lethargic Christians who are wrapped up in their bed sheets of self-pity and failure, dreaming of having great talents, need to awake to what God has given them. Awake! Get up! Find it and use your God-gifting for His glory.

Terry Atkinson in his book, 'Buried Talents,' reveals how Jonah ran away from God. That same God, using wind, worm and whale, can engineer your situation to cause you to run back to Him.

I am working at the Peterson Institute for Cancer Research (Christies Hospital) as a research scientist for a year as part of my training. During my degree course, I read 'Buried Talents,' and in doing so, I found that here wa a book that could heal many of the spiritual diseases that are found in those who seek to follow and learn from Christ. 'Buried Talents,' as you read it, will kindle your desire for God afresh. The fire that has burned low will be 'fanned into a flame.'

As you journey with Jonah, God will begin to perform miracles for you. Signs and wonders will become part of God's plan for your life. through this book, as for Jonah, so for you, God will always be there. He will reveal those things 'to' you and 'in' you, which you think are insignificant. The small areas of life that you don't think of as being talent will be taken and used.

The very talents that in the rush of life you have allowed to fall away will be taken and used in a more magnficent way. As you read this book, that buried will be resurrected, and you will find it bursting into 'new life' through the Holy Spirit. However small or rejected you may feel, this book will become fuel for your fire, feeding the longing heart until it enters once again into full devotion and promotion. The mighty works that you have not yet seen are waiting in the hands of God to be used in kingdom glory.' - Matthew David Ball, Final year student studying Biochemical Sciences BSc (Hons) at Salford University.

More Than Conquerors

'More Than Conquerors' is filled with examples of those who have made a success of the Christian life. That success only came out of failure. The bruised reed is made whole and the rejected man is made acceptable. The peasant can become a prince. The lout can be a lord. Each chapter takes you into the secrets of the heart of the successful. They did not live in their generation; they conquered, and in so doing set an example for us to follow.

Commencing with 'The Victory of Conquest,' Terry Atkinson takes you through succeeding chapters until you conclude with chapter 21, 'The Victorious Church.' As the individual succeeds, so does the church. There are so many Christians that have small expectations of God, and those same expectations are fulfilled. They never reach their full potential or become mature men of Christ.

This book has been written for travellers along The Way; to stop, meditate, gain strength and then go on to be winners. You may find yourself as one discouraged, seated, and having given up, no goals are yours! There is a chapter written especially for you. In one part there is a self-image of you. As you read, so your need is engulfed in what God has to offer. There is a realisation that each person has your weaknesses, but through faith they are made strong. Dwarfs become giants, and that weak broken reed is made strong in the 'power of his might.' The discovery is made that not all treasure is found buried on some remote island, but is within you! There is the potential that requires releasing in each one of us, and when it is released we do not dwell with snails and worms, but with condors. Waders become swimmers and gold medal specialists!

After reading this book, you will never be the same again. Noah's ark, stationary through lack of water, is taken up and launched into its destiny. That, found as just bread and fish, is multiplied that all are satsified. 'More Than Conquerors' establishes the throne of Christ in the human heart, and from that lofty grandeur, Jesus rules in full sovereignty.

The secrets of an overcoming life are found here. The fact that you can have the optimism of faith, and that all your objectives in life can be achieved. Each chapter contains part of the Word of God, and in that Word you make a marvellous discovery, as marvellous as on the first day when God created the world, when the sun shone for the first time, the stars twinkled in merriment and the rivers flowed in their virgin birth. God is for you, and wants to make you into a warrior and an overcomer!

Dwarfing Giants

We all love the story of David and Goliath. It brings a sense of sweet justice when the small defeats the large, and the good overcomes the bad. 'Dwarfing Giants 'takes the story of the man of Gath and the young shepherd boy of Bethlehem, and expounds the deeper meanings and truths that are concealed in this valley encounter, recorded in the history of Israel. The story contains so many relevant truths when living for Christ today!

Giants come to us all, but not just in a valley or the world, but we face them in the home, in the church, in work and in play, they appear when and where we don't expect them. We must deal with them, in every generation, using the same authority and power that was given to an unknown, unskilled warrior, defined as a shepherd boy. This is the heart of 'Dwarfing Giants'.

Terry Atkinson deals with so many aspects of Christian Warfare which are recorded in 1 Samuel 17. Discouragements are dealt with, along with proving your armour and there is a word for the faint-hearted. The sling and the stone working together describe how unity can overcome all things. There was no sword in his hand helps us to overcome without resorting to carnal methods and natural means, trusting the Almighty to work it all out in the everyday happenings of life. The recognition of your authority as a believer is witnessed in the words of Israel's future king. The final chapter of the book reveals David the distinguished warrior, who received recognition through his activities in battle. That called 'insignificant' and 'weak' is taken through every battle, and ultimately wins the war.

All that happened to Jesse's son in the valley of Elah, God used as tools to develop His design. Through David's encounter with Goliath, Jehovah took every moment of it, and used it to discipline the young man, turning him into a king that would serve both God and his people. No experience is just a falling leaf from a tree or a raindrop from the sky. It is all part of God's plan for your life, to make you into a giant-killer so that you too, dwarf giants. To do so is to be a modem David.

The real giant in this story is not Goliath, but the young man that God took and made strong. In the valley, principles were taught and learned by a shepherd that God turned into a soldier, servant and saint. Future generations need never feel forlorn, thinking that God will not do the same again. In every generation, the Lord God of Israel is seeking such a person to come to Him though despised and rejected by men. The Eternal wants to make an object of time and rejection into that of an eternal nature and worth more than silver or gold. 'Dwarfing Giants' deals with all these issues which we need to live and die for. To read it is to enter into the school of God, like Mary, to be taught, and to live the truth that you receive.

The Word of Knowledge in Action

The 'Word of Knowledge in Action' is not a deep theological book. It is profound in its depth of teaching concerning the Holy Spirit, and how He works in people's lives. It relates those experiences which are received from the Holy Spirit. The book contains many descriptive manifestations of the Word of Knowledge in England and abroad.

Terry Atkinson takes each occasion, and in his own words (sometimes poetically) describes that revealed by God which is passed on to the recipient. Those who are disillusioned have been quickened to believe the Lord. Those ready to falter and then fail have been made strong by the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

The first two chapters are a foundation and a defininition of the Word of Knowledge. Chapter after chapter relates those things revealed and released by the Spirit of God into someone's life. Whatever is revealed is always tied in with the Scriptures. Terry always takes you back to what the Bible has to say on any matter, quoting the relevant texts.

Once you begin to read this book you will be reluctant to turn from it until you have read every chapter. It abounds with exciting happenings and revelations that have helped to sustain and set men and women free.

Some of the revelations contained in this book are about individuals, couples, congregations and churches. This book will bring you face to face with the stark reality of God speaking through human vessels, vessels of honour, causing all who have heard, seen and know to glorify the Lord.
